YLL Contingent to Sydney International Women's Day 2021

Young Labor Left will be attending the International Women’s Day event at the back of NSW Parliament to fight the ongoing oppression of women and gender diverse people.

IWD, a day that draws the world’s attention to the ongoing oppression experienced by women and gender diverse, is the legacy of international socialist feminist movements. Originating out of an agreement and a proposal from German socialist Clara Zetkin at the International Socialist Conference of 1910, IWD has drifted away from its working class roots.

This year, we acknowledge the systematic underpayment of women and gender diverse people in the formal workforce and the unpaid reproductive labour performed at home, without which our capitalist system would collapse.

YLL hopes to contribute to a radical reclamation of this day. If you would like to come along, please RSVP at: younglaborleft.org/iwd2021

We will be meeting at the front of the State Library of NSW at 5:15pm.

Please contact Charlotte on 0478 784 812 with any questions.
