Join Young Labor Left at the Take Over Oxford Street march. We will meet at nearby at 1:30pm and then walk to Taylor Square to join the march at 2:00pm.
Young Labor Left members contributed to an effort at last year’s Mardi Gras AGM to support the Movement for Black Lives, block access to a float for the NSW Police, and end the sponsorship of Qantas for its participation in the transportation of asylum seekers. These motions were defeated narrowly due to the liberal and racist leadership of Mardi Gras.
This forthcoming march is in defiance of the liberalisation and commodification the queer community is subject to. Young Labor Left is proud to support the radical, feminist, de-colonial, and anti-capitalist struggle queer people have always, and will continue to engage in.
Join Young Labor Left on March 10 for our New Members Drinks at the Gaelic Club with guest speakers Rita Mallia, President of the CFMEU Construction & General Division, and Anthony D’Adam MLC. Rita will be updating us on the Save Willow Grove campaign, the latest frontier of the legendary Green Ban movement. Anthony will be reflecting about his experiences as a member of the Young Left being involved in campaigns fighting against apartheid.Young Labor Left seeks to engage young leftists who want to develop their organising skills, meet like-minded comrades and struggle together for a fair and just society. We believe a democratic socialist movement is the only way in which we achieve First Nations sovereignty, women’s rights, workers rights and queer liberation. Please ensure you RSVP beforehand using this link (https://www.younglaborleft.org/young_labor_left_new...) to ensure Young Labor Left NSW can comply with all COVIDSafe requirements.
