For generations, the people of Timor-Leste fought for independence. FRETILIN stood at the heart of that struggle for national liberation and self-determination.

Here in Australia, trade unionists and solidarity activists played a proud role in building solidarity with the Timorese people. Australian activists operated the Darwin link in 'Radio Maubere' which was a crucial link between the resistance and the outside world.
