Politics in the Pub: Defending Public Housing

Working Class Communities Have a Right to the City!

Young Labor Left and the Democratic Socialists of UTS invites all young activists and those passionate about housing justice to attend a special Housing Politics in the Pub at the Gaelic Club in Surry Hills from 6:30pm on Thursday 1st April.

We’ll be hearing from experienced housing experts and activists at the front of the fight against the displacement of working-class people from Sydney’s inner city including Hands Off Glebe, a resident action group fighting privatised redevelopment of inner-city public housing, Shelter NSW, a progressive housing advocacy organisation, and Professor Alan Morris, a distinguished housing scholar at UTS’ Institute for Public Policy and Governance.

They’ll also be sticking around for a drink! Come along to pick the brains of those on the forefront of Sydney’s housing justice movement and find out how you can get involved!

RSVP is essential. If you have any questions, contact Emily on 0410 257 600.

If you need assistance accessing the building, please give Emily a call when you arrive. There is a stairlift at the entrance and then a lift to the Gaelic Club.
